Highlights from our Homeschool Week

We had a wonderful week, filled with friends, amazing weather and new baby chicks!!

Monday
The day prior, the passenger tinted window on our van spontaneously shattered. It was very strange! But luckily no one was hurt. Anyway, Monday morning during the rain the company came out to replace it. We worked on the Maple Syrup Math Worksheet I made, to wrap up the weekend and week before, see the post here. After the rain cleared up, we headed outside for what I like to call, "Puppy P.E." the kids chase and play with grandma's 5 month old beagle pup--and it truly is a challenge of who will tire first, lol---they all seem to wear out together.

And of course then it was time to pop out from the couch as a dinosaur...

Starfall & Superman, great combo

Tuesday
After getting in some school work, (and jumping a dead car battery!) we headed to the library where we met up with friends and went for a walk in the beautiful sunshine along the trail. It was wonderful. We came home just in time to make dinner and eat, then my daughter and I headed to Girl Scouts, where their troop was celebrating the 100 year anniversary of GS with a really great party, complete with freeze dance and pinatas.

Wednesday
We got 8 new baby chicks!! We let them settle in and sleep as we hit the playground in gorgeous weather with our homeschool group for a park day.

"MOOOOOMMMMMMM!!!! She's trying to read my library book!" Yes, we've got sibling bickering. Luckily, it can't last more than a few minutes when the weather is this nice and you're outside enjoying a book under a tree. ;)

On our way to AWANA!

Thursday
Friends stopped over for lunch and saw our new chicks, then we spent the rest of the day outside with grandma and gave the chicks a chance to play outside for a bit, and for our grown chickens to meet them. We even stuck a new baby chick under our broody bantam hen, to see if we could trick her out of her spell, lol!! "Look!! You had your baby!!" She didn't fall for it. She was like, "ba-bawk!!! that ain't my kid!"

Friday
Homeschool Co-op, followed by an afternoon of blissful, relaxing play at our friend's house.

Saturday
The kids started their spring gymnastics class through the local recreation department in the morning. It was my son's first time being enrolled, my daughter has done it several times. He loved it. I'm glad I put them in separate classes and it's great that they're back-to-back. Super fun.

Afterward, I took the kids to eat lunch at Subway, then we made stops at the library and pet store. The rest of Saturday we spent working out in the yard, dad and grandpa were building the new chicken coop, and my husband's friend Travis came by to visit while my husband brought down the bikes and put up the trampoline for the season. It was a great summer-feeling Saturday in March. This next week is supposed to be even more gorgeous, weather-wise... wishing everyone an inspiring week with their life journeys, as well.
